Kris Smith, MBA, MSSA: "TheBlackTechie"

Born and raised in the Baltimore, Maryland area and now residing in Atlanta, Georgia, Kris Smith is emerging as a leading sports data storyteller and data visualization thought leader. She has identified critical gaps in the intersection of data analytics, data visualization, data storytelling, business, and sports. Leveraging her passion for these industries, Kris is carving out her own path as a trusted advisor, consultant, storyteller, and strategist.

Kris is the Founder and CEO of TECHnically Yours, LLC, a data visualization consulting firm specializing in helping sports teams and franchises make better data-driven and data-informed decisions while effectively communicating insights through data storytelling.

Kris earned her B.A. in Psychology from Hampton University. She holds an MBA in Management of Technology from the Georgia Institute of Technology and a Master of Science in Sports Analytics with an emphasis on Sports Business from the University of Mississippi. She is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Rhetoric, Communication, and Information Design at Clemson University in Clemson, South Carolina.

An active and financial member of both the Atlanta Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Incorporated, and the Delta Chapter of lota Phi Lambda Sorority, Incorporated, Kris is also a sought-after speaker, host, and trainer. In her downtime, she enjoys watching sports, attending music concerts and theater performances, and spending time with family and friends.
